Distinguishing characteristics include 2-3 years experience in organizing, campaigning or communications, computer savvy, and writing/editing chops.

Winning hire will serve as the organization’s lead federal lobbyist on public lands issues, work with NWF’s regional offices and affiliates, and also participate in media and grassroots efforts. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is looking for an experienced GR/public policy pro to serve as Senior Program Officer, Federal and State (search DC location or req ID 977BR). Duties will include developing federal and state policy strategies, ensuring consistent messaging and policy approach, and managing a team responsible for state government relationships, state-level policy grants, and grantee support. The next Assistant Director of Communications for the Service Employees International Union will have long list of responsibilities: directing communications strategy supporting political and legislative initiatives, for one – also driving proactive and rapid response communications on key legislative issues and political/political issues – and 18 other bullet-points worth beyond those (talk about your exploited masses!). The American Wind Energy Association hopes your answer is yes, if your qualifications for Director of Legislative Affairs fit the bill – ten years experience working on Federal legislation, including at least three years in a senior post.
