Revolution Messaging - Interns, Spring 2012

This internship is an unpaid position in exchange for academic credit earned. RM interns work
directly with RM staff to assist clients in shaping, maintaining and evolving their political presence in a niche technology market. Interns at Revolution Messaging will get direct, hands-on experience with the social media tools that are vital in the campaigns of today and tomorrow and will learn how to effectively organize online in a fast paced political environment. Interns will be expected to commit to 20-30 hours per week and will be responsible for: Developing social media & social networking platforms; Maintaining and developing of mobile messaging platforms; Assisting in preparation of client case studies; and Measuring the effectiveness of our clients’ social media strategies. We are currently recruiting interns for Spring 2012 for work based in Washington D.C.

The following positions are available:

• Social Media/ Communications Intern: The social media intern will assist with marketing and communications activities as well as assist in innovative social networking.
• New Media/ Design Intern: The new media intern will mainly assist with the development side
of things and may work directly on products produced for client use.
• Interns will likely have many of the same types of duties and will potentially be cross-trained in
multiple areas and both will have the chance to work on fun and exciting New Media projects.

Internship Requirements
• You must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program full-time at an
accredited university.
• This is a quarter or semester internship requiring a 3 month commitment minimum
• Availability to commit 20-30 hours per week to the internship

• Ability to quickly and thoroughly digest news content and assess its applicability for client
relations.
• Self-starter with a passion to build the network of RM clients through new media
• Ability to work effectively both independently and with a team in an innovative work place
• Flexibility and desire to take on additional responsibilities and opportunities as needs arise
• An interest in politics, new media, communications and creative thinking
• Fluent in MS Office
• More advanced technical skills in web production, programming and data tools are a plus, but
not strictly required.
