Growth Energy - Public Affairs Associate

This is a position for a mid-level associate or a very ambitious, aggressive junior-level associate with relevant experience on Capitol Hill, in a newsroom, in a public relations firm, or on a political campaign. Day to day responsibilities would include writing news releases, op-eds, member newsletters, blog posts, talking points, letters to the editor, and cultivating relationships with both national and regional news outlets.

Experience with social media or online organizing is a plus. The associate would take part in the strategic planning of paid advertising, grassroots organization and marketing. The job requires an intense attention to detail, a strong work ethic and appreciation for teamwork, as well as a sense of humor. Fast writers and people who want to “own their job” – willing to demonstrate independent thinking and a critical eye toward improving our overall effort – would do well.

Email Katy Ziegler Thomas at kzthomas@growthenergy.org with a cover letter and resume to apply.
