Renewable Fuels Association - Communications Director/Press Secretary

The Renewable Fuels Association, the leading trade association for the American Ethanol industry, is seeking a Communications Director/Press Secretary to facilitate day to day media relations. Responsibilities include proactively generating media coverage; responding to press inquiries; drafting press releases; writing op-eds, letters to the Editor, newsletters, blog posts, and other items, as well as implementing communications strategies that may include event planning and social media.

2-3 years previous media experience with strong ties to Capitol Hill/Washington and Ag/Alt Energy media is required. Prior knowledge of the renewable fuels industry or agriculture sector is preferred. The Communications Director will be part of a three person team. Candidates must possess drive, creativity, a high level of dependability, excellent writing skills, and an outgoing personality that engages media, staff, and membership. Periodic travel is required.
