International Association of Fire Fighters - Web Site Content Coordinator

The International Association of Fire Fighters seeks a Web Site Content Coordinator in our Web Operations Department. This position is responsible for posting and updating design and content and monitoring for quality control various IAFF web pages and sites to ensure ease of use, consistency in look, and up-to-date information.

The successful candidate will create, edit, and post original content for various web pages; assist IAFF departments with layout and design of new and existing pages; monitor content on all IAFF web pages; identify and recommend areas where IAFF web pages can be improved and made more effective by reorganizing, removing, redesigning, updating or adding content; work with IAFF departments to coordinate web content and ensure posted material is the most current; and ensure that the IAFF’s web presence appears consistent to the end user, that outdated material is removed or archived, and backend configurations are executed to IT Department specifications.

The individual must have excellent oral and written communication skills; be skilled in the proficient use of personal computer in a modern IT and communications environment and be able to easily navigate different content management sytems (e.g., CSS, DHTML, PDF, FrontPage, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite, web design software); as well as have ability to read and understand subject matter created by IAFF staff and others on a range of subjects in order to ascertain whether the content is consistent and to present it in an effective way on the web; ability to write clearly and develop web page designs that enable the optimal experience for the expected end user; ability to manage multiple projects and content areas, and navigate and design web pages that conform to the organization’s branding and quality expectations; ability to handle multiple assignments and meet established timelines.

A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is preferred and at least three (3) years of work experience with web site content posting and some experience with web site design is required. The starting salary is $56,470 with excellent employer paid fringe benefits package.
