Watch Drones in Southern Maryland, Check out Some Embassies This Week, or Join Fledgling Newspaper-enthusiast Tech Concern

Did you know that we're currently in Fotoweek DC (as in photography, if you couldn't crack that code); lots of terrific events in cool locations, including a couple embassies, noted here.

In case you missed them, please see previously noted opportunities closing this week.

The Financial Services Institute is in search mode for a Marketing & Communications Coordinator (scroll to find) possessing 1-3 years’ experience with marketing communications projects, preferably as part of a communications team in either a trade association or the financial services industry.

On Friday, we noted a couple opportunities available with the U.S Global Leadership Coalition, but we neglected to reference the also-still-definitely-active search for Veterans Outreach Director (scroll to find) with the group – experience in an outreach role with the military/veteran community and/or military background among their wants for the post.

The Incite Agency seeks to bring on Communications & Digital Interns (scroll to find) for 2-3 days a week on an unpaid basis; communications posts are DC-based, digital in New York

Bipartisan Policy CenterPress Assistant – 2-3 years of relevant experience in media relations required; best candidates will also demonstrate social/digital media savvy.

The University of Maryland seeks Communication & Admin Coordinator for UMD’s Unmanned Aircraft System Test Site somewhere in Southern Maryland (near the Patuxent River Naval Air Station, we’re guessing) – we’ll sum our assessment of this opportunity in a [compound] word: super-fun – apply by Nov. 19

Speaking of Southern Maryland, St. Mary’s County has a spot open for a Public Information Officer (pdf) for the Sherriff’s Dept. – $58k – Leanordtown, MD – apply by Nov. 26

Endangered Species CoalitionWolf Campaign Director – 6 month term – a high-functioning self-starter with a flexible nature will thrive in this group self-described as the antithesis of a top-down, hierarchical organization model.

Koch Industries – can also search here, via DC location or job #)

Cengage Learning believes that engagement is the foundation of learning; your 8+ years’ progressive experience in a public affairs, public relations or marketing position will merit you a chance at Senior Director, Public Affairs there.

International Rescue Committee
Here’s a pretty fresh Senior Director, OTC Communications post with Johnson & Johnson located in the North Philly suburb of Fort Washington, PA

The Director, Advocates for Wilderness for the Wilderness Society leads and directs all aspects of the mid-level giving program and serves as the bridge from low-dollar to major giving – 10-12 years of fundraising experience or equivalent combo of related training and relevant experience sought.

Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars
Obscure and probably-struggling tech start-up Amazon seeks Manager, Internet Governance Policy; this is probably something where you’re working out of someone’s basement or similar sketchy, precarious situation – we hear their founder is also dabbling in the newspaper business, which is a giant red flag, of course.
