Epic PR - Senior Account Executive

Old Town Alexandria, VA

www.epicprgroup.com

ABOUT EPIC:

Our clients think of us as a strategic partner who doesn’t just work for them – but works with them, as an extension of their team.

There’s no question – we’re a bit different than other agencies. We have the expertise, clout, and reach of a large agency, combined with the agility, creativity, and client service associated with an awesome boutique firm. We intentionally select projects we know will be accompanied with client urgency, emotional investment and gusto. Our clients’ commitment to a successful outcome is just as important as our own.

And we’re addicted to a get-it-done approach. We won’t tell you we think outside the box – we never understood why we should be in a box in the first place. But we do think. A lot. And, if you are looking to join an agency that is bold, creative, and fun – Epic is for you.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We’re looking for a rock star PR pro who can dance on a pinhead while kicking out cool copy. That’s what it’s like in a small office -- you never know what the next day, or client, will bring. We’re a high energy, hard-working team, and we hope you’ll love the diverse workload and creativity we generate.

You’ll help us to deliver world-class PR, marketing, and crisis communications to our corporate and association clients. Your job will be leading the implementation of client deliverables including: media relations, strategy, crisis communications, social media, press release writing, messaging, strategy development, timeline creation, project management, and client management.

And since we’re always looking for ways to kick-it-up-a-notch with our clients, your innovative ideas for how we can add more value are welcome!

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

· A Bachelors in Journalism, Public Relations or a related degree
· Minimum 5 – 8 years of PR experience, with at least one year at a PR / Marketing agency. Media pitching experience is important.
· Preferably Capitol Hill, association or corporate communications experience
· Exceptional writing skills – journalistic style is a must; quippy copywriting is super helpful

WHO YOU ARE:

· You’re a self-starter, ambitious, honest, kind and responsible.
· You can handle type-A, big-idea people with self-assurance, not arrogance.
· You’re detail-oriented, process-driven, and have great project management skills.
· You’re intellectually curious and consider yourself a news junky.
· You appreciate open communication and know how to work out differences with respect.
· You’re customer-service oriented and consultative; yet can set boundaries while ensuring that every client feels like they’re our only client.
· You’re willing to be “all in” when crises hit the fan, which may mean missing your 7:00pm spin class or a Saturday BBQ while we hunker down to get the job D-O-N-E.

READY TO APPLY?

Shira Harrington, Chief Engagement Officer of Purposeful Hire, Inc. is handling this search for us. She’s ready to receive your cover letter (with salary requirements), resume, and writing samples at shira@purposefulhire.com. Yes, all candidates need to speak with Shira first.
