Friday at Last... and Our Last (for a week or so)

Hello Friday.  We wrap up the week with some neat stuff, as well as noting that we will probably be taking all (or at least most) of next week off.  Until then, be safe and happy hunting.

GOPAC - 2017 Internships

GOPAC is currently accepting applications for 2017 Spring, Summer and Fall Internships. Ideal candidates are undergraduate students or recent graduates with solid academic records, strong writing, research, and computer skills, as well as an interest in Republican politics. Knowledge of word processing and database software is important. Background of coursework in political science, journalism, public relations, marketing or mass communications is a plus.

Founded in 1978 by then Delaware Governor Pete DuPont, GOPAC is the Republican Party’s premier center for educating and electing a new generation of Republican leaders. It’s a force in American politics as it ensures a healthy roster of prepared and tested state leaders are ready to lead in their legislatures and/or run for higher office.

Primary responsibilities include:
--Assisting with management of regular meetings and other events
--Assisting with GOPAC’s social media and website updates
--Maintaining an extensive contact database of state legislators, party leaders and more
--Tracking of media coverage
--Assisting with donor research and donor database management
--Assisting with incoming and outgoing mail and email correspondence
--Drafting of communications materials

The ideal candidate possesses the following:
--A strong work ethic and ability to work independently
--Familiarity with all Microsoft programs
--Excellent written and verbal communications
--Strong research and analytical skills

Squared Communications - Public Relations Intern

Squared Communications, a boutique public relations firm based in Washington, D.C., is looking for a self-motivated intern interested in learning all aspects of the public relations field. Ideally, this candidate would start in the beginning of the summer and the position is full time. It's essential that the candidate have excellent communication skills, demonstrate creativity, and understand the importance of attending to even the smallest details.

The primary goal of the internship is for the individual to assist with specific projects and gain experience with public relations writing and day-to-day activities, media relations, and client management.
