EVENTS AND PUBLICATIONS ASSISTANT

Background
Catholic Relief Services (CRS) is an international non-governmental organization supporting relief and development work around the world. Based at CRS World Headquarters in Baltimore, the Communications Team in the Overseas Operations (OverOps) division is responsible for promoting the agency's technical expertise in development programming to institutional donors. The team is comprised of a Senior Technical Advisor, a Marketing Manager, a Publications Manager and an Events Manager.

Activities
The Publications/Events Assistant will be responsible for 20 hours of support weekly. Working within the Program Impact and Quality Assurance department, the consultant will provide support to the Communications team's Publications Manager and Events Manager.

A. Publications-related tasks:
1. Draft short descriptions of CRS technical publications for CRS' online technical library
2. Upload publications to online library
3. Transfer email addresses for CRS publications alerts into new interface
4. Help coordinate launch of new email alerts in new interface
5. Carry out basic copy editing on short technical publications
6. Update links from sector pages to specific publications
7. Carry out photo searches in CRS photo database, as needed
8. Assist in processing consultant contracts and invoices
9. Archive old publications
10. Other tasks, as assigned

B. Events-related tasks:
1. Aid in the development of event brochures and fliers
2. Help organize and staff upcoming domestic events for Summer and Fall 2018
3. Input event-related printing requests and review proofs
4. Box and prepare shipments for events
5. Communicate with administrative staff regarding catering orders, linen orders, and venue contracts
4. Other tasks, as assigned.

Timetable of Activities
The consultant will provide services early July-September 28, 2018, with a possibility for renewal contingent on performance.
