The Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) Washington-based Government Affairs team is hiring an Associate Director of Government Affairs. This individual will represent the Association in Washington on legislative and regulatory issues of importance to physician practices.

Duties and responsibilities include:

Monitoring, researching and analyzing policy changes relevant to members and the organization.
Representing the Association on legislative/regulatory issues such as Medicare Part B payment, quality reporting programs, Medicare Physician Fee Schedule updates, and compliance topics.
Maintaining relationships with key stakeholders in Congress, executive agencies and coalition groups
Preparing regulatory comments, statements for the record and correspondence to federal agencies.
Authoring articles for Association newsletters and speaking at internal/external events.

Job Requirements:

Applicants should have a substantive knowledge of and interest in health policy, as well as strong communication, writing and public speaking skills. A minimum of 5 years of experience in government relations (or a related field) is required. Candidates must be self-motivated, personable and able to work collaboratively with other staff. A bachelor’s degree is required. A graduate degree or equivalent political or healthcare policy experience is strongly preferred.
