Responsible Business Alliance - Marketing Associate

About the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA): The RBA is a nonprofit association committed to helping its industry members understand and improve the social and environmental challenges and opportunities in the global supply chain. Our vision is to help our members build an industry supply chain that consistently operates with social, environmental and economic responsibility. The RBA accomplishes this through building and implementing programs and initiatives, including the Responsible Labor Initiative (RLI), Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI) and Responsible Factory Initiative (RFI).

We are currently seeking a Marketing Associate based in Alexandria, Va. Reporting to the Director of Communications, the primary objective of this position is to assist with marketing efforts including: digital and print brochures, videos, PowerPoint presentations, case studies, infographics, event & training promotions; other duties as assigned. Attention to detail & strong writing/social media skills required. Diplomacy is also key as this role will have direct interaction with members, staff and vendors.

Basic Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
• Ability and desire to learn how to use or gain greater proficiency in new technology, social media and web-based communication platforms
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with high standards for work products
• Ability to handle multiple activities with competing deadlines
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Articulate, personable and diplomatic
Desired Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
• Experience working with graphic and web designers and videographers to produce interesting content and compelling marketing collateral that adheres to brand style guidelines
• Creative thinking with an eye for high-impact design
• Video production experience would be highly valued
• Strong writer with a thorough understanding of fundamental grammar rules
• Familiarity with graphic design software would be beneficial
• Familiarity with AP writing style would be beneficial

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or a related field from an accredited college or university, plus 1-3 years of related work experience in an association, agency or corporate office environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Brochures and Presentations: Gather and edit relevant content from staff and coordinate with graphic designers to create and update compelling brochures and PowerPoint presentations.
• Videos: Help draft scripts, set up and operate video equipment (camera, lights, teleprompter, microphones), film videos and coordinate with a video editor on post-production.
• Events, Trainings and Awards Promotion: Assist with the promotion of our outreach meetings, trainings, annual conference, Compass Awards, and other events.
• Case Studies: Work with staff, members and graphic designers to develop and promote case studies based on award submissions, interviews, etc.
• Other Duties: Assist in the creation and distribution of email newsletters, social media posts, website updates, web and print banners, infographics, logos, photos, etc. Help with daily media monitoring, the annual sensing project, the annual report, and other duties as assigned.

RBA is located in Alexandria, Va., near the King St. Metro. Travel to annual conference & other events may be required. This is a growing organization serving global members and we are looking for a motivated team player.
