Oil, Drugs and PR Firms!

National Journal is looking to hire a Director of Events, Communications and Brand Marketing. The successful candidate "will be responsible for the formation and execution of the marketing strategies to strengthen and promote our publication brands with readers and advertisers."

The Center for Science in the Public Interest is planning a website redesign, and will need an Internet Communications Manager to helm the effort. Requirements sought include HTML, CSS, Flash, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Illustrator and other design applications as well as experience with databases, CMSs, and advocacy tools.

Roche Pharmaceuticals may (more on this choice of words later) be looking for a Director of Federal Affairs to develop "federal lobbying strategies, policy statements and applicable lobbying work plans." A caveat - while this position still appears active on the Roche website, it has a posting date of May 13. Accordingly, someone may already be sitting at that desk.

The American Urological Association has several positions available, including: Marketing & Communications Associate/Assistant, Marketing & Communications Specialist, Continuing Medical Education (CME) Coordinator, Manager of Regulations, and Government Relations and Advocacy Manager.

The North American Securities Administrators Association's homepage acknowledges that "The economic problems our nation faces amid the turbulence on Wall Street has left Main Street investors concerned about the safety of their brokerage and retirement account assets." Tokyo-based pharma company Daiichi Sankyo's product line includes AZOR, Welchol, Benicar, Floxin and Evoxac. They are searching for an Associate Director, Public Policy and Federal Relations to lobby for these fine potions and elixers. No word on free samples.
