Red Alert Politics - Reporter/Blogger

Red Alert Politics, an online-only publication for young conservatives, libertarians and Republicans and a sister publication of The Washington Examiner and The Weekly Standard is seeking a reporter or blogger who has an eye for breaking, political news and is looking for part-time work.

Experience writing for a personal blog is acceptable. Responsibilities will include monitoring the news and writing breaking news and other assigned articles during regularly scheduled hours and at the request of Red Alert's editor, as well as helping to manage Red Alert’s massive social media operation.

Number of hours: 20-40 hours a week;

Times: Sunday 9am to 1pm; weekdays 9am-1 pm and occasional evenings to cover events.

Location: Washington, D.C.

Pay: Negotiable based on experience.

Experience: Previous AP style writing is experience required; previous reporting experience required

Requirements: Must be willing and able to write in the style of Red Alert Politics - articles must be geared toward a younger demographic; Must be available to work Sunday mornings; Must have a personal twitter account with at least 250 followers.

Application requirements: A resume, a cover letter, three references who can speak to the applicant's writing ability, in addition to three times the applicant is available in the next two weeks for a writing and editing test.
