As Junior Achievement of Greater Washington aims to impact more lives in more ways and build Junior Achievement Finance Park in Prince George’s County, we need someone who shares our passion for giving area youth the tools necessary to chart an innovative course forward and the hard work it takes to expand the reach of our programs.

Reporting to the Vice President of Development, and serving as an integral member of the Development Team, the Prince George’s County Director of Development will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships vital to the growth of Junior Achievement, with specific emphasis on Junior Achievement Finance Park in Prince George’s County.

This newly created position needs a leader that can develop, initiate, and maintain aggressive individual and corporate giving campaigns for Finance Park and wok with leading experts on our world-class Board of Directors and with our staff to identify, rank and solicit the potential new relationships that are vital to our growth as an organization.

Responsibilities:

· Develops new contributors for JA’s new project in Prince George’s County
· Establishes, organizes and implements outreach through Board members, community leaders and new business relationships to ensure the accomplishment of approved new revenue goals
· Identifies, ranks and solicits prospects, cultivates prospects to gifts and stewards donor relationships
· Manages board level and Prince George’s based committees in support of approved retention and new revenue goals.
· Prepares meeting materials. Plans and leads committee meetings.
· Responds to committee inquiries and supports committee member outreach
· Manages budget for Development-related activities
· Directs materials preparation for campaign-related marketing of assigned campaigns
· All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

· Passion for Junior Achievement’s · Mission—desire to make a difference.
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
· Five years experience in development including working with corporations.
· Foundation proposal experience.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities.
· Working proficiency with development database systems.
· Self-starter and innovative thinker.
· Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
· Computer literacy.
· Familiarity with Prince George’s County and Washington, D.C.-area business markets.
