Who we are Looking For:

We are looking for a professional with two or more years’ experience to help us elevate our messaging and communications to the next level. You will be a motivated, resourceful, creative design and tactical marketing guru with the ability to understand the goals of a project and execute on time, on (or under!) budget, with a smile and can-do attitude. You have a unique mix of web and graphic design, writing styles, social media content management, and other key strengths to meet the needs of our growing non-profit trade association. Must have working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite. Wordpress experience is a plus.

About the Position:

The Marketing & Events Coordinator plays a critical role at IEC Chesapeake. The Marketing & Events Coordinator is responsible for creating and distributing a wide-range of marketing, communications, event, and presentation materials on behalf of IEC Chesapeake’s activities, classes, and all outreach. These materials are delivered in a variety of mediums, including print, online, video, and electronic formats. The Marketing & Events Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Operations and also works directly with the executive staff to develop strong relationships with association members, vendors, students, and outside business partners. This position will begin as a part-time position moving into a full-time position. Once full time position begins benefits are offered: Medical, Dental & 401K and Vacation.

The Day-to-Day:

--Prepares and produces marketing materials
--Publishes content, updates, and coordinates maintenance of IEC Chesapeake website
--Assists in developing marketing campaigns for activities, events, press, and classes
--Works to build email marketing database for wide, targeted distribution
--Researches, writes, and edits press releases, member and student newsletters, and other IEC Chesapeake communications materials.
--Collaborates with IEC Chesapeake staff, association members, outside printers, and other vendors on various events and projects
--Assists in organizing chapter events, classes, and seminars
--Collects and organizes IEC Chesapeake photo archives
--Works with outside vendors on collateral material production
--Develops new promotional materials
--Authors articles on key activities of IEC Chesapeake
--Oversees and contributes to social media outlets for IEC Chesapeake (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.)
--Other duties, as assigned

Syrian-American Medical Society - Fundraising and Development Manager

Location: DC or Canfield, OH

Responsible for planning and manage all aspects of the organization’s development and fundraising activities. The successful candidate will be capable of developing, implementing, and supervising an efficient and effective Fundraising and Development Department.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for developing, managing and reporting on the organizations private donor fund development plan, which includes donor solicitation and fundraising, special events, private foundations, direct mail, e-solicitation, and annual and fundraising campaigns.
• Responsible for coordinating all aspects of donor records in the donor management database of individual, foundation and corporate donors to grow charitable giving.
• Monitor ongoing reporting and acknowledgement systems to measure progress toward fundraising goals and ensure timely and accurate stewardship and tracking of gifts.
• Oversee timely acknowledgement/recognition of donors and contributions as appropriate.
• Assist in researching and evaluating high net worth individuals, corporations, and foundations by preparing prospect research reports using Raiser’s Edge (RE) and other online sources.
• Provide monthly reporting on donor/fundraising information as requested by management
• Track donations into the database, and update prospect and donor lists. Maintain donor files, prepare mailings and track statistics and follow up as required.
• Take proactive steps to ensure donor privacy. Ensure that all records are adequately protected and maintain confidentially at all times.
• Supervise and work with all staff to ensure efficient upkeep and tracking of donor related data.
• Assist with execution of annual fundraising campaigns and major gifts.
• Assist in the logistics of fundraising events as needed
• Other duties as may be assigned

Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or a related field
• Advanced PC skills; including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, other software
• Proven track record in fundraising and experience with fundraising database systems, previous experience in Raiser’s Edge is preferred
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills; demonstrated ability to take initiative, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively
• Creative and resourceful; entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work in a collaborative, productive manner with diverse constituencies
• Ability to act independently and energetically on all tasks
• Professional discretion and rigorous respect for confidentiality
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English
• Fluency in Arabic is preferred
• Eligible to work in the United States is required

Candidates for this position should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, demanding, yet rewarding, environment. The position is full-time, with occasional evening and weekend responsibilities.
