Something Extra + Internship News

The first two weeks of 2011 have been the most-heavily trafficked fortnight in DCPA+CJ's 2+ years of operation – so we'll keep the ball rolling with some extra Saturday finds for you eager job- and internship-searchers.

But first – we're happy to announce Intern Days are coming – Thursday-Sunday, Jan. 20-23 – we're going to a four-day format, and (reluctantly) retiring the beloved Three Days of the Intern brand name. We'll probably skip posting on Tuesday of next week as we put together this annual Summer internship extravaganza.

  1. Swanson Communications is a Washington, DC-based full service sports marketing and public relations firm. We are looking for one energetic intern to help us with our day-to-day projects and social media efforts. This non-paying internship (travel stipend only) will begin immediately and continue through the semester. You must be available to perform 20 hours a week (or two full days.)

We work hard and you will learn a lot. Our hands-on approach to aggressively pursuing exposure for our clients is the key to our success. Interns will be responsible for handling more than just phone calls and filing. Duties will include handling press information, assisting with special events, conducting research, writing press releases/marketing letters, and answering phones.

If you are self-motivated, outgoing, have good writing and communications skills, and are interested in getting the experience you will need to be ahead of your classmates in the job market, then this internship is perfect for you. Please email your resume to lmilner@swansonpr.com or fax to 202-783-5516. Any questions, please call 202-783-5500.
