    The Bipartisan Policy Center has an immediate opening for a full-time Writer in the Dept. of Communications. This position will be responsible for conceptualizing, writing and editing op-eds, Capitol Hill testimony, talking points, statements, and online posts to promote the BPC, its staff and its projects. The Writer reports to the V.P. of Communications and will be responsible for overseeing all invitations, correspondence and promotional copy, as well as developing and producing the annual report.

    The essential duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following:

    -- Conceptualize, write and edit newsworthy op-eds for BPC President, Founders, Senior Fellows, project directors and other high-profile BPC individuals.
    -- Assist in writing Capitol Hill testimony, talking points and statements.
    -- Oversee all invitations, correspondence, and promotional copy for brand consistency and public relations value.
    -- Develop theme, assemble materials, write copy and oversee production of annual report.
    -- Assist in writing and submitting pieces to national and local newspapers, Hill outlets, journals and websites for publication.
    -- Oversee blog posts from BPC staff and write timely blog posts for website.
    -- Contribute to monthly eNewsletter.

    Required Experience:
    -- Bachelor’s degree
    -- Three to five years of relevant experience in writing and editing
    -- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
    -- Must be able to manage multiple tasks; communicate effectively; work with little direct supervision; and work in a team environment.
