    Location: Washington, DC

    TechAmerica, the leading voice for the US technology industry, is seeking a dynamic government affairs or communications professional to join our team in Washington, DC. Work includes managing event logistics, attending meetings, performing research, as well as providing some administrative and marketing support. The ability to participate as part of a team as well to work independently with little oversight is desired. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with professional policy, communications, and/or marketing experience. Academic experience may be considered for work experience.

    The position offers a high energy, fast paced work environment with motivated staff and member company volunteers who feel strongly about advancing the interests of the technology industry. Responsibilities include:

    · Policy, Government Affairs & Program Management (40%) = Assist international, federal, and state government affairs executives in events and committee meetings that focus on such high-tech policy issues as Cybersecurity, Environment, Health IT, Intellectual Property, Tax, Trade, Telecommunications etc.

    · Marketing & Communications (40%) = Manage TechAmerica.org website content, design print marketing collateral, and craft and deliver compelling email communications to members. Select social and new media projects will also be a priority.

    · Other Administrative Duties (20%) = Provide material support for miscellaneous special projects that advance the business of technology in the U.S. and overseas.

    Skill Requirements

    · Bachelor’s degree in public policy, communications, marketing, technology, or business administration.

    · Required knowledge of MS Office is preferred. Additional knowledge of Internet, Web publishing, database management, graphic design and social media a plus.

    · Ability to work on multiple tasks, for multiple people, and to prioritize duties.

    · Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.

    · Exemplary organizational and time management skills.
