Interns will have the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of activities that should broaden their public affairs experience and expose them to the foreign and domestic policy decision-making process that impacts governments, NGOs, businesses and civil society.
INTERN EXPERIENCE:
ASG is currently seeking an intern to assist in the area of communications for the 2012 Fall Semester. ASG is seeking an intern with background and experience in communications, new media and/or marketing that may have been applied to government, NGO and/or university positions, including:
-- Assisting communications staff with daily press operations, including list-building, drafting press releases, blog entries;
-- Contributing to event planning regarding press conferences, events and/or domestic / international travel for a principal;
-- Managing media monitoring of traditional news and social media outlets.
-- Exceptional writing skills are essential. Candidates should possess an interest in and knowledge of international relations and/or U.S. politics.
INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interns are asked to contribute in a number of ways. This includes, but is not limited to:
-- in-depth research and analysis on key people and issues of interest to the firm;
-- draft and prepare briefing memos and materials;
-- provide assistance to key staff in advance of domestic and international trips;
-- mine daily news sources for issues of relevance in both the U.S. and foreign press;
-- support marketing and business development efforts at ASG;
-- assist in the management of outgoing correspondence from key principals to external individuals and groups;
-- pitch in with administrative tasks as they arise, including, but not limited to, editing of documents, answering phones; and,
-- performing other duties as assigned.
TIMELINE OF INTERNSHIP:
ASG is seeking interns to start as soon as possible at the beginning of September, and concluding at the end of December.
