    PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS

    Assist in serving as a liaison for ACLI committees/subcommittees/task forces on assigned issues; monitor and note Committee activities, prepare drafts and complete written reports, maintain thorough knowledge of committee activities and issues; prepare agendas and prepare minutes.

    Provide clerical and admin support to the OIR and support implementation of “international” work programs for other ACLI departments as directed. Perform research on assigned issues and special projects.

    Serve as an information contact regarding committee meetings and administrative issues for the Office of International Relations.

    Responsible for centralizing and maintaining assigned information and ensuring that info is accurate and available to ACLI staff and member companies on a timely basis.

    Represent ACLI by demonstrating outstanding member relations skills in all areas of performance; specifically assure prompt, courteous and accurate responses to all member company inquiries and consistently deliver superior service that reflects well on the association.

    Collaborate with other staff members, actively seeking opportunities to help or provide support, both within and outside of assigned department. Maintain culturally sensitive engagement with members and key stake holders.

    TYPICAL DUTIES

    Act as department contact regarding information on various international issues and related meetings (internal & external).

    Responsible for compiling and maintaining information and assuring its accuracy.

    Serve as staff coordinator for OIR, CEO and senior staff international travel and advocacy in coordination with other ACLI staff assistants. To include preparation and publication of all materials (schedules, travel information, background, talking points) in I-PAD and briefing book formats.

    Responsible for organizing and maintaining ACLI OIR Website format and content, including updating calendar of events, task force lists, task force descriptions, upcoming program notices and issue and other specific pages.

    Responsible for maintaining and updating all final communications of International Committee and task forces on ACLI web site.

    Responsible for maintaining electronic files of all committee and task force documents that are transmitted to members via mass emails.

    Under direction of the OIR staff, monitor IAIS website and create electronic briefing books for OIR staff and members

    Prepare correspondence for ACLI groups as well as for submission to outside bodies as directed by OIA exempt staff.

    Maintain current mailings lists, files and publications and other department material.

    Maintain outlook contact lists for International Committee and task force leadership, U.S. Government contacts, consultants and other groups at the direction of supervisor.

    Other admin duties, including: Arranging meetings; Organizing events (breakfast, lunch and dinners); Travel arrangements, including expense reports and check requests; Answering telephones, responding to routine inquiries and referring other calls to appropriate staff members.

Ability to establish rapport easily in person and by telephone. Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced and noisy environment. Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent telephone skills.
