Armenian Assembly of America - Interns - government affairs, communications and research
ReplyDeleteThe Armenian Assembly of America is currently seeking unpaid interns for our Government Affairs, Communications and Research departments in our Washington, D.C. office for the 2013 fall semester. Start/stop dates are flexible (September-December).
The ideal Government Affairs internship candidate will be studying/have experience working in the U.S. Congress and government, political science and/or public policy.
The ideal Communications internship candidate will be studying/have experience in journalism, traditional and social media, video/photo editing, and strong English language proficiency. Experience with web design and HTML are preferred, but not required.
The ideal Research internship candidate will be studying/have knowledge of regional and international think-tanks, local, regional, national and international publications, and a strong ability to navigate Congressional and U.S. government agency databases.
The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, possess outstanding written and verbal communications skills, and demonstrate an ability to work well with others in a fast-paced team environment. Communications / Public Relations Intern
ReplyDeleteA boutique communications and public affairs firm seeks a qualified candidate to perform various client-related and administrative duties. Our firm specializes in translating technical, complex information for broader audiences, related to the fields of transportation and sustainability.
The intern will be responsible for the following duties:
*Monitoring Congressional developments in applicable committees;
*Drafting and editing press releases;
*Developing content for various social media accounts (primarily Twitter and Facebook);
*Researching prospective members for our trade associations;
*Creating and maintaining media lists;
*Updating Capitol Hill staff contact lists;
*Conducting news and media searches - compiling clip reports and/or summaries as needed;
*Data entry for our contact database; and
* Other administrative duties as assigned by supervisor.
Position could include duties of increasing responsibility depending on performance and demonstrated interest.
Our ideal candidate would be a student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Political Science, or a related field. The candidate must possess an upbeat, "can-do" attitude. This position is available immediately for the duration of the fall semester with a possibility to extend, depending on performance and interest.
