  1. Strategic Communications, LLC - Legislative & Regulatory Affairs Internship Program – DC Office

    The Legislative & Regulatory Affairs Internship Program at Strategic Communications, LLC (SCLLC) offers a $3,500 stipend to one Washington, D.C. graduate student or strong undergraduate candidate in his or her junior or senior year, for a part-time work-study program for the spring 2014 semester.

    Requirements:

    -- Highly comfortable searching the Web for information that can sometimes be challenging to track down (top candidates will be asked to complete a short, objective test of their Internet research abilities)
    -- Academic or internship experience with energy issues highly valued
    -- Attention to detail, strong writing skills, ability to efficiently evaluate and organize information also critical
    -- Legislative or government internship experience strongly preferred
    -- Previous experience with legislative, legal, and policy tracking or docket management not required but will strengthen application significantly
    -- Completed at least sophomore year of college by June 2013
    -- Currently enrolled in Political Science/Government, Law, Economics, Public Policy, Public Administration, or similar field of study From January 2014 to May 2014, the student will need to commit twenty (20) hours per week for work to be completed at SCLLC’s downtown Washington, D.C. office (Metro-accessible).

    Duties:

    -- Research regulatory and legislative issues of interest to clients at state and federal levels
    -- After completing training, manage regulatory and legislation tracking for select states
    -- Monitor news and information sources for key policy developments
    -- Provide regular written summaries of developments on assigned issues, including policy papers and panel discussions, for SCLLC staff
    -- Participate in staff meetings (in-person or via phone call) to discuss status and needs of various projects for current SCLLC clients
