    Overview
    Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants is looking for a superstar Restaurant + Bars Public Relations Specialist to help tell the story of the Mid-Atlantic area’s seven one-of-a-kind restaurants. The candidate will provide day-to-day public relations support, including message development, PR writing, media responses, and media tracking in addition to assisting with special projects, event coordination, social media support and photo shoots. In addition to supporting ongoing PR strategies, the Specialist will play an active role in identifying media opportunities and brainstorming PR initiatives. The ideal candidate is a curious food-lover and team player with a positive attitude who can tease out interesting stories in everyday experiences, operate well in a fast-paced environment, and diplomatically follow through with important tasks.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Assist with public relations projects and events by researching, writing, editing and disseminating press releases, media advisories and other press materials.
    • Assist with basic media needs including information requests, interview coordination, media dinners and product drops while maintaining press-ready background materials including fact sheets, restaurant materials and photography organization.
    • Research and brainstorm creative PR initiatives based on industry trends and media opportunities.

    Qualifications and Skills Required

    • 2-4 years of professional public relations and/or marketing and events experience in a public relations agency, corporation or national non-profit, ideally within the restaurant industry.
    • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, business or a related field.
    • Stellar written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to excel in a fast paced environment.
    • Ability to work as a part of a team, including nights/weekends as needed, and periodic travel.

    Job Description
    The Public Relations Intern is responsible for providing organizational and creative support in the area of public relations to the Regional PR Manager and PR Specialist for the Mid-Atlantic Region. The candidate will support day-to-day administrative needs in addition to special projects. Kimpton is looking for a bright, creative, energetic, self-motivated professional with a passion for the food and beverage industry. The intern reports directly to the Area PR Manager.

    Responsibilities:
    • Assist with department media monitoring and clip reporting and management of department resources including social media lists, media database, etc.
