Position Summary:
The American Association for Homecare (AAHomecare) is seeking a Communications Associate to help advance AAHomecare’s mission of strengthening access to care for the millions of Americans who require medical care in their homes.
We are looking for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit, good people skills and a collaborative mindset. This position requires previous experience at an association, preferably at least three years in communications or marketing.
Essential Accountabilities:
• Develop content for, write and design weekly member newsletter.
• Setup and distribution of all member/industry alerts and emails.
• Day to day management of AAHomecare social media channels.
• Develop and implement marketing plans for webinars and non-dues revenue programs.
• Manage member marketing benefits, such as newsletter ads.
• Track communications metrics.
• Manage Powerpoint design for AAHomecare presentations.
• General assistance with press releases, drafting memos, proofreading and other basic communications functions.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Experience in communications with an association is required.
• Proven ability to frame complicated issues in simple and relatable messaging.

ReplyDeleteCLS Strategies, a mid-sized Washington, D.C. – based communications firm, is currently seeking interns for the Fall 2015 semester (September – December).
CLS Strategies serves a range of clients – including Fortune 100 corporations, high-profile individuals, foreign governments and international organizations, trade associations and non-profits. Some need to protect their reputations from intense threats. Others are trying to shape new laws. All are looking for creative, outside-the-box solutions that bring together politics, public policy and media/communications.
Interns are an integral part of CLS Strategies. They monitor the media for breaking news and relevant commentary, research public policy issues, attend briefings on the Hill and at local think tanks, plan and execute events, provide administrative support and assist with strategic thinking for a broad range of domestic and international clients. The small size of our firm allows interns to work closely with senior staff members and provides opportunities for substantive work.
Candidates must be able to juggle a range of tasks and work well under pressure. Previous office environment experience and a major in communications, public relations, journalism or political science is preferred, but not required. Foreign language proficiency, especially in Spanish, and social media expertise are pluses.
This is a paid internship to begin in September. College credit can also be given in lieu of pay. Start and end dates are negotiable. Please indicate in your cover letter whether you are applying for a full (5 days/week) or part-time (3 days/week) internship.
