Summary:
Working independently and as part of team, the Marketing Communications Manager designs & implements comprehensive info & marketing campaigns that support & promote ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) & assist ASCs in providing top quality care to their patients. The manager promotes the association’s educational events, services & resources & delivers industry news to the association’s members & external audiences through web and email content, print and digital marketing collateral and social media. This position requires strong writing & editing skills, including ability to translate complex concepts into easily absorbed messaging. Successful candidate must be able to manage multiple long- and short-term projects & marketing calendars simultaneously & to apply best practices in online marketing & communications. The manager must also have an eye for graphic design & skills/work ethic required to provide the hands-on support involved in accomplishing goals.
Main Responsibilities:
• Create and update web pages and provide ongoing management & oversight of Ambulatory Surgery Center Association's (ASCA) web site & microsites.
• Work w/ consultants to complete the migration of ASCA’s CSS to a new mobile-friendly template.
• Manage cross-departmental email marketing calendar and write and design email content for all association events and programs, including annual conferences/seminars, monthly webinars, quarterly surveys & other news/promotions, as well as two weekly newsletters
• Design print & digital marketing collateral, including homepage image rotators, web page banners, flyers, magazine ads, brochures and PowerPoint templates that adhere to ASCA’s style guide & maintain brand identity & consistency
• Monitor and evaluate web/email analytics, create targeted audience segments for various communications and integrate new technology
Other Responsibilities:
• Manage ASCA’s social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn and propose utilization of new platforms or increased activity if necessary
• Write two columns on association news for ASCA’s monthly magazine & assist with articles in other trade publications
• Maintain comprehensive list of media contacts & monitor industry media activity
• Participate in and support quarterly Public Affairs Committee calls
• Foster an expanded role of video content for web/email communications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Successful candidate will be a detail-oriented self-starter who possesses excellent organizational & communications skills and the ability to work productively in a deadline-driven environment
• Strong writing and editing skills, especially in translating complex concepts into simple text that can be targeted to multiple audiences
• Ability to work successfully on multiple projects simultaneously and reliably track, manage and report progress in all areas
• Ability to assess departmental priorities within context of organization’s strategic plan
• Ability to produce content for various audiences/formats
• Ability to communicate effectively with members & stakeholders internally and externally
Minimum Qualifications:
• Experience in the implementation/measurement of marketing campaigns
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator)& HTML
• Experience developing & managing web, email & social media content
• Experience in communications and/or marketing within an association or nonprofit preferred
• Knowledge of health care industry & health care policy issues preferred
• Four-year college degree required
