    Intern applicants must possess strong written and verbal communications skills with a particular sensitivity to political nuance.   3. The Hatcher Group - Fall Communications Internship - paid position

    The Hatcher Group communications firm is seeking a graduating senior with outstanding writing, editing, traditional media and social media skills for a paid internship in the fall. The intern could work in either our Bethesda, Baltimore or Annapolis offices. The internship can be part-time or full-time.

    Candidates must be on track to graduate with a bachelor’s degree, have strong relevant work experience, and should be highly organized, detail oriented and passionate about progressive policy issues. Candidates must have excellent skills in web research and Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint). Work experience with social media platforms and analytical tools is desired.

    The candidate also should be a self-starter and team player with good people skills and a strong work ethic. The candidate should be able to work on a schedule to meet tight deadlines and juggle multiple projects. And the candidate should be a self-directed and curious learner with a great sense of humor.

    Job duties

    The intern will work with us on a variety of client projects. Tasks may include:
    • media and advocacy outreach
    • writing press releases and media advisories
    • writing feature stories and content for web sites
    • researching and creating databases and media lists
