ReplyDeleteThe office of the Speaker of the Maine House seeks a Communications Director to manage an active and dynamic public relations strategy. The Communications Director works with the policy and political staff to develop and implement a strategic communications strategy. The ideal applicant will be an excellent writer and editor with a proven ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, while meeting tight deadlines. Responsibilities include: serving as spokesperson for the Speaker, providing strategic communications advice to the Speaker and senior staff, preparing the Speaker for interviews, planning and implementing local media strategies, managing social media, and writing speeches, press releases, talking points, op-eds and other materials. Candidate must have experience building and maintaining relationships with members of the media and editorial boards and have on-the-record experience. Must be a team player, have a positive attitude and work well under pressure.

The Communications Manager is RAINN's primary media liaison and is responsible for leading RAINN's media outreach. The Communications Manager will help shape messages to promote awareness of RAINN programs and mission to the public and key influencers. The Communications Manager will report directly to the VP of Communications.
RAINN is the leading national resource on issues related to sexual violence for television, radio, print and online news outlets — as well as policymakers, law enforcement and sexual assault service professionals. We work extensively with the media and entertainment industries to provide vital information to millions of Americans each month about sexual violence prevention, recovery and prosecution.
Squared Communications - Public Relations Intern
ReplyDeleteSquared Communications, a boutique public relations firm based in Washington, D.C., is looking for a self-motivated intern interested in learning all aspects of the public relations field. Ideally, this candidate would start in late September, and the position is full time. It's essential that the candidate have excellent communication skills, demonstrate creativity, and understand the importance of attending to even the smallest details.
The primary goal of the internship is for the individual to assist with specific projects and gain experience with public relations writing and day-to-day activities, media relations, and client management.
Responsibilities include:
· Monitor all forms of media for daily news clippings
