    Internship Summary:

    Catholic Charities is seeking a summer intern in the Communication and Marketing department of its DC Metro office. The intern will be an important team member that will work on several key projects.

    The internship is available for college credit.

    While the intern will have a wide variety of projects and experiences throughout the term of the internship, two projects serve form their central focus. The projects include evaluating, improving and growing our photography and video collection and developing, refining and strengthening our media contacts. The photography work may include developing a method for archiving images and videos, as well as developing a shot list of needed images to working as a staff photographer and with hired freelance photographers. For the media contacts work, the intern will research, evaluate and update our list of local and regional media contacts for proactive story pitching.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    --Photographic (still and moving) collection curation, cataloguing and editing.
    --Coordinating photo shoots with programs, photographers, etc.
    --Creating content on numerous platforms (i.e. website, social media, newsletter)
    --Evaluate and organize media contacts (existing and new)
    --Content creation: contribute to planning, ideation and storyboarding for campaigns.

    Additional Duties:
    --Support for social media, internal newsletters, website, program assets
    --Team support for meetings and events
    --Other duties as assigned.

    Requirements:
    --Applicants must be enrolled in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or related fields of study
    --Strong writing and editing skills; visual orientation
    --Experience with editing software (i.e. Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign)
    --Knowledge of digital photography, cameras and equipment
    --Wordpress knowledge and experience a plus.
