  1. Rep. Al Lawson (D-FL) - Communications Director

Florida Democratic Member of Congress seeks an experienced, hardworking team player with outstanding writing and sound political judgment to serve as Communications Director.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing and implementing communications strategies across both traditional and digital media; writing speeches; responding to press inquiries; drafting press releases; writing and placing op-eds; overseeing and expanding the Member’s social media presence; creating and distributing e-newsletters and franked mailings; and planning press conferences and in-district events. This is not an entry level position.

The successful candidate will have exceptionally strong writing skills, on-the-record experience, and a proven track record of generating earned media. Capitol Hill experience and Florida ties are strongly preferred. Candidates must be flexible, highly dependable, and organized.

Interested candidates should send a resume, cover letter, two writing samples, and three professional references to FL50DC@gmail.com. No phone calls, faxes, or walk-ins, please.
