    Senior Manager, Government Relations (Tax Policy)

    Position Summary

    The National Grocers Association is the national trade association representing the retail and wholesale grocers that comprise the independent sector of the food distribution industry. In addition to retail and wholesale members, NGA represents affiliated associations, manufacturers, and service suppliers, and other entrepreneurial companies that support NGA’s Mission and Philosophy.

    NGA is searching for an energetic individual to join the NGA Government Relations team as the Senior Manager, Government Relations. The Senior Manager of Government Relations will work closely with the VP of Government Relations, and will be responsible for an issue portfolio primarily focused on tax policy. Other assigned issues will include healthcare, trade, and nutrition policy.

    Responsibilities

    • Identify, monitor, and report internally and to NGA membership on legislative and regulatory issues
    • Advocate NGA’s policy priorities before Congress and the Executive Branch and develop strategic engagement activities for NGA member companies.
    • Represent NGA in industry meetings and coalitions; attend fundraisers
    • Support NGA’s grassroots advocacy program and Political Action Committee efforts

    Qualifications

    • Strong understanding of federal legislative and regulatory process
    • 3+ years of experience on the Hill, Executive Branch, and/or in government affairs
    • Strong written and oral communications skills
    • Ability to multitask on simultaneous projects
    • Team player with proven ability to collaborate with others on projects
    • Knowledge and experience in tax policy required
    • Bachelor’s degree required

    We are currently looking for a creative, experienced and hard working individual to join our firm as Senior Vice President of Digital Strategies.

    Duties include:

    - Designing and implementing innovative digital strategies and campaigns that amplify clients’ overall communications and advocacy objectives
    - Serving as lead strategist responsible for achieving clients’ advertising, data, website and social media KPI objectives

    This person must be forward thinking, proactive and possess the ability to work independently. 
A strong attention to detail, demonstrated ability to prioritize competing tasks and the ability to budget both time and resources is a must.

    Other qualifications include:

    - A clear understanding of digital advertising strategies and proficiency in conceptualizing, executing, and reporting on digital campaigns
    - Ability to create repeatable, scalable systems and processes for digital operations while customizing them to fit each client’s needs and budgets
    - Experience managing creative teams, developers and other outside vendors
    - Experience directly advising an association, campaign or advocacy initiative
    - Experience working with market research partners and developing strategies based on findings
    - Experience testing search keywords, ad/social media messaging and calls to action
    - Relationships with third-party digital advertising and data partners

    Technical Qualifications Include:

    - Proficiency in Google Suite including Analytics and AdWords
    - Knowledge related to WordPress
    - Knowledge related to Google Tag Manager, DoubleClick and Firebase
    - Knowledge of CRMs such as Salesforce, Nation Builder and Raiser’s Edge
    - Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
