    Join the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) Washington D.C. office as a Media Relations Manager for the Government Affairs Department. The Media Relations Manager will report to the Senior Vice President of Government Affairs & will work closely with government affairs staff to advance MGMA’s advocacy and policy agenda.

    Key responsibilities to include:

    --Develop and manage strategic media relations plans to advance MGMA’s advocacy and policy agenda;
    --Cultivate collaborative working relationships with national press contacts, healthcare trade press contacts, publicity community, and influential opinion leaders in Washington;
    --Write and edit press releases, advocacy statements, and other literature;
    --Promote MGMA’s message via online and social media channels;
    --Propose ideas to enhance media coverage;
    --Secure effective media placements assisting MGMA advocacy goals;
    --Work closely with internal subject matter experts and public relations team to ensure a cohesive and effective message to the public; and
    --Monitor media coverage & disseminate detailed analytics to staff.

    Candidates should have three to five years’ experience in public relations, communications, or a related field. Experience in-house or at an agency working with health care clients is preferred. A demonstrated interest in health policy is strongly preferred. A Bachelor’s degree is required.
