    Program Description

    We are currently seeking smart and politically savvy full-time or part-time interns to join our Research and Policy Analysis (RPA) team.

    The FTP internship program offers students and recent graduates substantive, practical, and hands-on experience working at the nexus between the public and private sectors on some of the biggest policy issues facing our country. Working closely with staff, interns will utilize their deep understanding of the legislative process and their analytical, research, and writing skills to support the firm’s bipartisan government relations professionals across a wide range of topic areas. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone interested in pursuing a career in government, government relations, or public affairs.

    FTP interns regularly have the opportunity to conduct legislative and policy analyses, attend and report on congressional hearings and briefings, and draft a broad array of research memoranda. This important work is used by FTP’s principals and clients to guide decisionmaking on issues including health care, tax, energy, natural resources, financial services, and more. Interns will also work with FTP’s Operations team and gain experience preparing for and attending events, answering phones, and delivering packages to clients and Capitol Hill offices on an as-needed basis.
    Fall 2018 Program Details

    § Ideal Start Date: Aug 13th or Aug 20th / Ideal End Date: Dec 21st

    § Ideal Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm (32 hrs/week minimum)

    § Pay: $13.25/hr (Non-Negotiable)

    § Location: Gallery Place/Chinatown Metro in Northwest Washington D.C.
    Qualifications

    Ideal applicants have a demonstrated background and interest in public policy and government. Familiarity with Capitol Hill is preferred. They must have strong research and writing abilities, a keen attention to detail, an understanding of the legislative process, and exceptional interpersonal skills.
