JOB SUMMARY
The incumbent of this position serves as a Public Affairs Officer for the Department of Behavioral Health/Behavioral Health Authority. Responsible for supporting the Director of Communications and External Affairs to develop and manage media relations, social media, internal communications and overall public awareness efforts to promote understanding of behavioral health and address stigma about mental and substance use disorders. Develop communications strategies that work to increase the knowledge and availability to behavioral health services and resources. Creates informational materials, newsletters, presentations, website content, social media content, blogs, opinion editorials and media messaging. Works to provide public affairs support for special initiatives, projects and programs.
