  1. Rep. Pete Olson (R-TX) - Interns - Spring 2020

Congressman Pete Olson is currently seeking ambitious students who are interested in interning in his Washington, D.C. office during the upcoming Spring semester. There is an opportunity for this position to be paid.

Our Capitol Hill internship gives a unique opportunity to learn about the political process by working side by side with policy makers, government officials and future world leaders. Interns will assist staff with drafting constituent correspondence, attending Congressional briefings, assisting communication team efforts, analyzing Committee testimony and more. No matter which career field students plan to follow after graduation, this internship presents infinite opportunities for your future and career aspirations. We're looking for students with superb academic achievement and an interest in the political sphere. Students must be able to perform under pressure, carry themselves well and possess a strong writing ability. Texas ties are preferred, but not necessary. The office prefers full-time candidates, but we will make exceptions for well-qualified candidates.

This internship is run by a staff that is majority former interns. To say we understand the intern life is an understatement, as we will do our best to make sure your time (if chosen) is worthwhile.

Those interested should send a resume, cover letter and a short writing sample (1-2 pages) to this email (tx22internships@mail.house.gov) with the subject line: “Spring 2020 Internship Application”.

The Internship is scheduled to begin January 6th through May 1st, 2020. We are willing to work with students’ schedules if need be (i.e. if they need to start or end later or sooner). The sooner we are informed of any changes or requirements, the better.
