As noted earlier, I am ending this 11+ year, 3,074-post (good grief, that's amazing) enterprise because it's time to reduce the sitting-in-front-of-a-computer hours in my life. I doubt my days will come to resemble a Michelob Ultra commercial, but I think getting some more exercise and outside-time will follow. I've enjoyed hearing from so many people over the years that have found a job through the blog or at least made their search a little easier and more fun. Folks seemed to like it, and that's why I've kept with this odd-but-fulfilling hobby. Thanks for the job-submissions and all the kind words.
This is (most likely) the last regular edition of the blog. I do plan to run a list of all the previously jobs with pending deadlines in one post on Sunday – and I'll probably write some job-searching advice and a big set of relevant job-board links in the next couple weeks.
Feels a little weird to be signing off right in these unsettling times, but otherwise it's been great. Good luck in your job-searches & all things and feel free to drop me a line if you ever feel like chatting.
Now, on to the jobs; a lot of direct-to-us submissions lead the set.

Hey! I just wanted to say thank you for keeping this blog up for so long. I have been job searching for 6 months, but I was referred to this blog two years ago by a friend and have found it to be an integral part of my daily routine both now and then. While it is sad to see you go, I am happy you now have more spare time to do other things. Wishing you all the best moving forward!
ReplyDeleteFarewell, Gordon! Thank you for everything!
ReplyDeleteThank you for all these years of work! I've checked it regularly ever since coming to DC 8 years ago <3
ReplyDeleteWow. Thanks for keeping this going - huge effort. All the best and enjoy the extra time.
ReplyDeleteThank you for everything! Sad to see you go, but hope you enjoy the time off. Stay healthy and safe!
ReplyDeleteWow! I don't even live in DC anymore and I still check this blog every now and again to see what's available in case I decide to move back. :) I've found two jobs through this blog and just want you to know that your work has been hugely appreciated!
ReplyDeleteSorry to see you go, but incredibly grateful for your generosity in updating this blog and spreading bits of hope and opportunity. I too have followed it closely over several years, with it leading to 1 job and many other ideas as I try to figure out what I want to be when I grow up. Thank you. Go Nats.
ReplyDeleteYou're amazing! I've checked this page almost weekly for the past 5 years. Thank you for all that you've done, I found my first job out of college on this page and it's been an amazing resource ever since. Hoping we can come together as a community during this trying time as people scramble for jobs and new graduates enter the workforce to keep this page going.
ReplyDeleteWhy don't you pass the torch and sell the site

ReplyDeleteThank you so much. <3
ReplyDeleteOh, no! Your website was such a good-energy mainstay all these years. It made me want to move to WDC. I even think you might live near my friends in Alexandria. I loved that you didn't design it. And you curated the jobs a bit.
ReplyDeleteYou have so much traffic to this site, right? Maybe something can be done with it.
Thanks so much!
I've really enjoyed visiting and learning about opportunities. Thank you so much for dedicating so much of your time. Your passion to help others really came through on the pages. Best of luck!
