We're seeking a creative and skilled Press Assistant to amplify our message through compelling content and strategic outreach.
Key Responsibilities:
--Develop and produce engaging digital content, including social media posts, videos, infographics, and memes that align with conservative principles and resonate with our southern constituency.
--Design eye-catching graphics and visual materials for press releases, newsletters, event promotions, and online campaigns using tools like Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
--Draft high-quality written materials such as press releases, op-eds, speeches, talking points, and email blasts with a clear, persuasive voice.
--Conduct proactive press outreach, including building relationships with local and national media outlets, pitching stories, coordinating interviews, and responding to media inquiries in a timely manner.
--Brainstorm and execute creative strategies to enhance the Member's visibility, such as viral content ideas, themed campaigns, and innovative storytelling that highlights legislative achievements and policy priorities.
--Monitor media coverage, track public sentiment, and provide analysis to inform communication strategies.
--Assist with event coordination, including press conferences, town halls, and constituent engagements in Washington, D.C., and the district.
--Collaborate with the communications team to ensure all content is on-brand, accurate, and optimized for maximum impact.
Qualifications and Requirements:
--Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Political Science, Graphic Design, or a related field.
--At least 1 year of professional experience on Capitol Hill (e.g., in a congressional office, committee, or related role).
--Proven expertise in content creation and graphic design, with a portfolio demonstrating creative work (e.g., social media graphics, digital ads, or visual storytelling).
--Strong writing skills with experience in crafting press materials; ability to write concisely and persuasively under tight deadlines.
--Experience in press outreach and media relations, with strong interpersonal skills.
--High level of creativity and a passion for innovative communication in a political environment.
--Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a high-pressure, team-oriented setting.
