Airports Council International, North America - Visual Communications Specialist

Airports Council International – North America (ACI-NA) is an aviation trade association based in downtown Washington, DC. We represent the local, regional, & state governing bodies that own and operate commercial airports in the U.S. & Canada, as well as aviation-related businesses that provide goods & services to airports.

ACI-NA is seeking a Visual Communications Specialist to create high-quality print & digital graphics & collateral materials association priorities. Ideal candidate will be self-motivated, have strong design skills & enjoy being part of a dedicated team. P osition requires excellent decision making, computer skills & ability to support a wide-range of projects and activities on tight deadlines while consistently high-quality products.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Responsible for development, design, & production of all printed, electronic, and digital communications including infographics, presentations, media relations materials, advocacy collateral materials, membership promo materials, event marketing, web & social media assets, & advertisements.
• Develop & implement brand identity and quality standards; Support consistent application of association branding standards across all levels of the organization. Provide training as required to support this effort.
• Collaborate with department staff and key project personnel in the development of graphics and collateral pieces, ensuring that information is communicated clearly, accurately, in a visually appealing manner and in alignment with association’s overall brand and messaging guidelines.
• Follow creative work from concept to pre-press and post-production while maintaining original design intent, messaging, and quality standards throughout the process.
• Provide graphic and logistical support for a number of events and conferences, including the development of on-site program guides and on-site marketing materials.
• Work with and manage print production including engaging with local print shops and conducting press checks.
• Provide art direction to photographers; Scan and color correct artwork and photographs.
• Organize and maintain all electronic image and graphic files for ease of use, transmittal, and production.
• Assist the webmaster in updating the ACI-NA website
• And other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or associated field & at least 3 years of directly applicable work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates should be expert users of Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office programs. Additional computer program expertise a plus.

• Exceptional print and digital graphic skills including knowledge and experience with typography, color, conceptual thinking, print layout, digital production, and post-production.
• Talent for translating highly-technical information into clear and concise graphics and for producing multi-page documents that are organized, logical, and easy to digest.
• Experience developing & managing graphics in support of print and digital communication activities.
• Ability to participate in collaborative project teams and coordinate deliverables/deadlines throughout all phases of a project.
• Ability to perform range of project & marketing duties utilizing excellent graphic, written, and verbal skills as necessary.
• Capable of adhering to deadlines while working on multiple projects.
• Ability to work in challenging, fast-paced environment while consistently producing collateral and support material of exceptional quality.
• Knowledge of print production process
• Maintains attention to detail & ability to complete tasks with accuracy.
