Our DC communications practice specializes in issues management, public affairs, regulatory matters & media relations. We’re looking for a dynamic professional with experience implementing strategic, integrated communications programs & leading account teams in an agency environment. Candidates should have experience with B2B clients, managing account teams and client programs, and be proficient in digital media.

QUALIFICATIONS:
BS/BA in a discipline related to journalism, PR, public affairs or communications, with a minimum five years of applicable experience. Applicants must have superb written/oral communication skills, successful track record conceiving & implementing B2B communications programs & serving as the program/project lead with direct client contact. Experience in issues management, regulatory affairs, and PR campaigns a must. Experience with scientific/technical business sectors & trade associations a plus. Applicants should be up-to-date on social and digital media as it relates to PR programs.

Candidates must have a passion for public relations and public affairs, be self-motivated yet enjoy working in a collaborative environment; exhibit sound judgment, exceptional organizational skills, consistent attention to detail and prioritization of deadlines. Candidates should enjoy engaging with clients and learning about client industries.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Reporting to the vice president, the account supervisor will develop/implement strategic PR & public affairs programs for clients in B2B sectors. Position includes serving as day-to-day client contact, program creation and management, regulatory and issues monitoring and management, managing budgets and supervising staff.

The position may require domestic or international travel which may involve multiple nights away from home & may include occasional weekend assignments. Candidates must be willing to travel by air & be available to attend meetings?conferences in other cities/countries and be available to work weekends with advance notice.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Develop & implement public relations/public affairs programs including:
Research and planning, budget management, servings as primary client contact and preparing regular reports for client, attending client meetings and events;
Strategic and regulatory issues monitoring and communications;
Create positioning and messaging;
Write and edit reports, white papers, press materials, bylined articles, newsletters, op-eds, website content and other written materials;
Prepare presentations and present to clients and other audiences;
Serve as client liaison to other companies or groups within the clients’ industry sectors;
Cultivate and manage relationships with clients and third-party vendors;
Cultivate relationships with journalists and pitch media, manage media requests for clients;
Develop, verify and maintain up-to-date media lists, client reports, and other materials, as needed;
Proposal writing/research;
Attend meetings/events, and new business presentations.
