The National Women’s Law Center is seeking a Legislative Representative for its women’s health and reproductive rights program. Successful candidate will monitor and advocate on issues related to health care and health insurance, including health care reform, Medicaid, SCHIP and private insurance, and women’s health. Direct legislative experience is highly desirable; JD or Master’s degree is preferred.

The Sierra Club looks to add a Conservation Organizer, Responsible Trade Program to organize support for grassroots campaigns, events and skills training and to generate turnout for campaign visibility events. Just a couple years experience working with volunteers in the environmental movement, political campaigns, or other, similar organizations will get you considered. A caveat: they note that the job is grant-funded, limited duration ending one year from hire date.

The Worldwatch Institute has their sights set on hiring a Climate and Energy Program Director to lead the program, represent the Institute before the media and other high-profile audiences, and of course, for fundraising. Five to ten years in the climate and energy field, including international and supervisory experience, are among their requirements. Apply by Dec. 15.

For any of my conservative comrades who didn’t punch their monitor after the first three listings – here’s something just for you: The Heritage Foundation is looking for a new Vice President of Communications to guide their marketing/communications strategy across multiple channels including print and broadcast media. Ten years of communications/media experience, including at least five in a management role, are required. Research, Marketing and Policy Analyst (Microsimulation and Religion/Civil Society) positions are also available.

Humana Inc. would like to hire a Grassroots Consultant to develop, and implement various grassroots programs that engage employees, members, and business partners. Responsibilities include developing global media communications strategy, media outreach, and spokesperson. Proficiency in languages other than English is an advantage. Columbia University's Business School has a desk waiting for a Senior Media Relations Officer to help drive an aggressive media relations strategy to enhance the school’s national and international visibility and reputation. They’re looking for creative, exceptional, and energetic types with a demonstrated track record of media placements in top-tier media outlets.

The Energy Action Coalition is trying to build a nationwide network of young clean energy/climate activists – and they’re also looking to build their headquarters team: Managing Director – Online Organizer – Outreach & Environmental Justice Director positions are all currently open. DC and/or San Francisco-based fellowships are also available.
