Dream On

The Pew Charitable Trusts seek a Project Manager, Communications to join their Pew Center on the States operation. Successful candidate will design and implement communications strategy, including work in messaging, media relations, web presence and materials development. At least 8 years PR/communications experience is desired.

The Dept. of Energy is looking for a new Director, Communications & Outreach Division for the National Energy Information Center. The Division Director supervises 13 professional staff and provides leadership creating & managing communications, along with outreach related to their policy-neutral data, forecasts, and analyses. Pay range: $102k-$153k – job ID: HQ-09-DE-EI-30-002R – apply by Jan. 23.

BNSF Railway Company has the call out for a Budget & Legislative Affairs Analyst for what appear to be largely administrative duties – although the job title suggests they’ll let you do some legislative tracking/research work, as well, for the $40k a year you’ll be taking home. The Consultative Group to Assist the Poor has a slot for Director of Web Communications & Services to provide strategic and tactical planning, development, and coordination of their IT systems, while managing and developing web platforms including cgap.org, microfinancegateway.org, and two blogs (this one, too, I'd guess). Masters in information technology or computer science preferred, along with 5-10 years experience managing the development of web-enabled information systems. Search via Beale Personnel.

National Public Radio is scanning all frequencies for their next Director, Foundation and Government for fundraising efforts targeting, naturally, foundations and government agencies. A minimum of seven years fundraising experience with an outstanding track record, including securing major grants of over $500k from national foundations and government agencies. The Center for a New American Dream, a Takoma Park-based non-profit working to address the environmental and social impacts of unsustainable consumption, would like to add a strategic leader, fundraiser, team-builder, and, yes – a visionary – to serve as their next Executive Director. National Group, MPRI may be looking for a Senior Communications Specialist for strategic communications activities in support of the U.S. Army. Key audiences include Congress, the defense industry, internal Army constituencies, and military service organizations. Accordingly, you would probably be well-advised to make sure the job was still available before expending too much effort here.

Information Services & Technology firm NJVC lists two Communications Manager II and one Communications Specialist III (search Virginia location) positions. A caveat: they may be limited to internal candidates only.

So you think you can dance? Or at least develop, implement, and maintain advanced web-based multimedia programs and applications for communication and marketing projects? If "yes" to the second question, the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance would surely consider you for the Web Programmer/Developer job at their Reston-based operation, especially if you have the waaaaay-extensive technical experience they list in the position description.

Fight Crime: Invest in Kids looks at crime prevention strategies, informs the public and policymakers about those findings, and urges investment in programs proven effective by research. They are looking for a Federal Policy Director (with the help of their friends at Slesinger Management) to lead their efforts to influence public policy at the federal level. They’re also looking to add a Federal Policy Assistant, who they will compensate in the $30k range.
