  1. Reingold - Proposal Writer

Reingold, a full-service marketing and communications firm in the Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria, Va., offers an outstanding opportunity for an experienced, talented proposal writer and manager.

Our proposal writer must fully grasp the sometimes arcane requirements of federal, state, and local government RFPs; coordinate decision-making on which public and private sector opportunities match our capabilities; work with Reingold leadership to craft our understanding and approach; define proposal deliverables and see that all forms, resumes, past performance data, process figures, and staffing charts are complete; and corral the resources—including senior managers, partner firms, writers, graphic designers, and administrative support—to drive the process for submitting complete proposals on time.

This position demands a versatile, senior-level self-starter with entrepreneurial initiative, total reliability, practical perfectionism, attention to detail, and commitment to the team. A sense of humor helps too. Responsibilities include:

-- Manage the contract and proposal process, from prospect identification to contract approval.
-- Collaborate with senior management and staff to craft intelligent, coherent proposal narratives based on prospect research and existing Reingold language.
-- Oversee a system for tracking and updating past performance info, including updating contract contacts and total dollar values and checking with staff to update project narratives.
-- Collaborate with the finance department on budgeting.
-- Collaborate with our design team on proposal graphics, charts, and tables.
-- Create proposal package checklists and review final packages to ensure that all terms and conditions are met and problems identified and resolved.
-- Work with editorial team to update and keep track of proposal language.
-- Capture and organize specially formatted resumes prepared for proposals.
-- Prepare and submit periodic government reports and internal contract management reports as needed.
-- Update GSA schedules and labor categories.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree and five to seven years of experience in proposal writing for private and government entities. Experience with federal government contracting and GSA schedules and contracts preferred.

We offer a supportive, team-based work environment. Salary is commensurate with experience. Please send a cover letter, resume, salary history and expectations, and a two to three RFPs that you have responded to and won to HR@reingold.com or fax 703.299.2424. No phone calls, please. www.reingold.com
