POLITICO is seeking experienced, entrepreneurial Business Development Executives to join our pioneering and growing media company. Business Development Executives are an integral part of executing subscription sales strategy for POLITICO’s newest service offering, POLITICOPro.
Business Development Executives are responsible for building the subscriber base of POLITICOPro by working closely with the Executive Director of Business Development to identify target prospects, develop and deliver sales presentations and close new clients. This is a consultative sales role that requires an understanding of current policy issues in one of the following: health care, technology, energy, transportation, defense or finance, as well as the ability to diagnose and address the information needs of prospective clients. Successful candidates will have a background in communications, sales, membership recruitment or fundraising.
Candidates with 6+ years of experience including the following are encouraged to apply:
• Selling intellectual property or information services to senior-level executives
• Managing junior-level sales staff
• Fundraising for a political campaign or organization
• Leading membership campaign drives for an association
