The INGAA Foundation - Intern

The INGAA Foundation is seeking a summer intern with a background and interest in energy and energy policy. This paid internship is located in Washington, DC. Successful performance may lead to a full-time researcher/communications assistant position with the Foundation and its partner the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America (INGAA), the premier trade association representing interstate transmission pipelines.

We prefer a graduating student who will receive a bachelor’s or an advanced degree.

We will consider public policy/political science, communications and engineering majors, with strong writing skills. The successful candidate must have a strong background and experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and/ or graphic design is valuable.

The successful candidate must have experience and comfort with viewing, manipulating and sorting a variety of data in Microsoft Excel. Tasks also will include posting to the web via a custom interface and assisting in developing presentations. Please include a cover

letter with your resume.

• Assist in reviewing draft reports on various natural gas related topics prepared by

consultants retained by the INGAA Foundation;

• Research various technical subjects regarding natural gas and related topics;

• Assist in preparing public communication documents on natural gas and natural gas

pipeline topics including safety, environment and air quality;

• Prepare draft documents on selected topics;

• Help prepare presentations and speeches;

• Attend energy briefings on behalf of senior staff and provide summary notes;

• Assist in developing website content and other communications products; and

• Perform other duties as assigned.

The INGAA Foundation was founded in 1990 by INGAA to advance the use of natural gas for the benefit of the environment and the consuming public. The Foundation's primary activity is sponsored research focused on promoting natural gas use and safe, efficient pipeline construction and operation. The Foundation has completed over 70 studies and projects since 1990. These studies have addressed issues such as the environmental impacts of energy use, improved pipeline construction practices, pipeline safety procedures, new technologies and market opportunities for natural gas.

INGAA is the Washington, DC-based trade association that represents the interstate and interprovincial natural gas pipeline industry in North America. INGAA’s members transport the majority of the natural gas consumed in the United States through a 190,000-mile interstate transmission pipeline network. In addition, the association’s members include the owners of four operational liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals in the continental United States, as well as several developers of proposed new LNG terminals.

Interested candidates should submit their resume and cover letter to Richard Hoffmann (rhoffmann@ingaa.org) and Cathy Landry (clandry@ingaa.org) by March 15, 2014.
