Embassy of the Republic of Haiti - Communications & Marketing Interns

The Embassy of the Republic of Haiti in Washington, D.C. is currently seeking two experienced interns to support our Communications and Marketing efforts. This is an unpaid internship position for someone interested in communications and/or marketing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Write press releases and assist in coordinating press conferences

• Assist in preparation for communications and marketing materials

• Assist in the creation of newsletters; writing marketing messages, compiling photos, content and logos and implementing in online program

• Assist in development of Embassy’s website as well as with content management tasks

• Assist in social media efforts including posting updates on Facebook fan pages, Twitter and Instagram

• Support other Embassy teams and organization activities as assigned

PREFERRED SKILLS AND RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

• Communications & Marketing savvy, creativity and forward thinking

• Social media/networking website user

• Internet abilities and strong communication skills; written and oral

• Basic understanding of marketing/communication tools and techniques

• Ability to handle multiple tasks, priorities and deadlines

• Flexible and proactive in taking on assignments and responsibilities, and willingness to learn, assist to identify, plan, and implement new communications, marketing, and promotional campaign strategies

• Familiar with Microsoft Office programs, Graphic design, basic HTML

• Must be a highly organized, detail-conscious leader

• Must also have a solid understanding of the dynamics of building partnerships for non-traditional marketing and promotion

• Applicants should be a college senior or graduate student

• Must be available to work in the Embassy at least 15 to 20 hours per week. Some evenings will be required for special Embassy events

• Must keep all Embassy information confidential until released to the public

• A passion for Haiti required
