McBee Strategic Consulting has an immediate opening for a full time Associate to support the strategic communications business unit at a rapidly growing professional services firm in Washington, DC. Working directly with communications professionals at all levels--including executives—the selected candidates will assist in providing counsel and services to global corporations, smaller public and private companies, governments, non-profits, associations, investment and professional service firms, and high-profile individuals.

The ideal candidate aspires to pursue a career in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or public affairs, and possesses the following core qualities:

Selection Criteria
• Solid research and writing capabilities;
• Strong oral communication skills;
• Digital communications acumen (e.g., social media and online communications knowledge and experience); and

Job Requirements
• 2-5 years of strategic communications experience.
• Demonstrated ability to drive work forward while prioritizing and effectively managing multiple initiatives, multiple constituencies, and diverse personalities under strict deadlines.
• A creative and analytical mind with the ability to think strategically and see the overall picture, even when working on just a portion of it.
• Comprehensive knowledge of AP (Associated Press) Style and usage standards.
• Technical appetite and competence. Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Ability to independently organize and perform research—and to develop an organized system for research maintenance.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, particularly under deadline pressure.
• Prefer candidates who have writing experience – Including writing samples in your application appreciated!

• Project management skills.
• Able to work independently and achieve results.

Education
BA, BS in Communications, Public Relations, Public Affairs, or related field with a 3.0 or greater overall GPA desired.
