Communications Strategy Group - Interns - Spring/Summer 2016

Location: Chicago, Denver, or Washington, D.C.
Stipend: $12.50/hour with a 30-hour max each week

Communications Strategy Group (CSG®), one of the country's fastest growing national public relations firms, is seeking spring and summer communications fellows (interns) for the agency's Education practice. Successful applicants will work with a variety of nationally recognized clients in the K12, Higher Education and Edtech sectors.

CSG is widely recognized for its communications expertise in the industries it serves including education, financial & professional services, health & wellness and consumer. The agency is based in Denver, Colorado, and has offices in Chicago, New York City, and Washington, D.C.; this fellowship can be based in CSG’s office in Chicago, Denver, or Washington, D.C.

Functionally, our fellow will have the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of the communications industry, gain real-world experience working in an agency, and build a portfolio of work as he/she develops a variety of different types of content, including press releases, pitches, blog posts, articles, website content, and other materials. Knowledge of AP style and understanding of SEO is preferred, but not necessary. The experience should be challenging, rewarding, and fun.

The perfect applicant will have the ability to execute a variety of tasks, owning all projects from start to finish. An interest in education is helpful and writing skills are critical. We also prefer our candidates be personable, organized, and self-motivated. We desire candidates who are intuitive, confident, and willing to jump into assignments with enthusiasm and dedication. Because this practice works in a variety of education-focused areas, the ability to tactfully handle sensitive client subject matter is vital.

We seek students in their junior or senior year pursuing a bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, english, or other applicable studies. Recent graduates are also welcome to apply. Ideally, we would like candidates to commit 20-30 hours per week to the fellowship, though time commitment is flexible based on school schedule.

How to Apply:
Submit your resume; a cover letter detailing your experience, why you would make the perfect addition to the Education practice, and which fellowship you are interested in (spring or summer); and three writing samples to rvivanco@csg-pr.com.
