  3. International & American Associations for Dental Research - Marketing & Communications Manager

    The International & American Associations for Dental Research (IADR/AADR) seek a motivated marketing & communications professional to fill the role of Marketing & Communications Manager. This position will be responsible for overseeing IADR/AADR monthly e-newsletter and supporting content development (articles, web content, social media posts, press releases) and video projects across the organization, developing project based web content, developing and implementing both membership and meeting marketing.

    This position is designated as management-level “exempt” under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

    The ideal candidate will be a strong technical/scientific writer, editor and project manager. We are looking for someone with a keen eye for detail and eager to seek out emerging technologies for marketing and communications.

    Specific duties:
    --Work with colleagues in marketing IADR and AADR membership and events to members and potential attendees/members.
    --Edit all news items posted on the website and emails.
    --Work with journal editors and volunteer leaders in identifying press-worthy journal articles and meeting presentations and developing engaging press releases for professional and consumer press.
    --Manage monthly member e-newsletters of dental research and general scientific information and important funding announcements (Science Advocate and Global Research Update)
    --Maintain IADR/AADR brand guidelines.
    --Promote web content via social media platforms.
    --Coordinate marketing & communications projects across departments.
    --Collaborate with designers and developers on print and online collateral.
    --Serve as primary proofreader.
    --Liaison with volunteers on materials to promote IADR in Regions, Divisions and Sections.
    --Create and implement methods for tracking and evaluating success of projects on a regular basis and make necessary changes to improve program effectiveness.
    --Promote organizational efficiencies through changes in workflow and business practices.
    --Assist others with content development needs, blast emails, video projects and other worked, as assigned.

    Qualifications:
    --Undergraduate degree and four years’ association/non-profit experience with a science or technical degree and/or work experience.
    --Exceptional technical/scientific writing skills with a command of AP style and grammar rules.
    --Excellent organizational and project prioritization skills.
