Position Description

FTP is currently seeking a bright, proactive individual to join our team as a Research Associate. The person in this position will be responsible for helping the Senior Director of Research and Policy Analysis and Senior Partners provide timely and accurate information and analysis on matters of importance to our firm’s clients. This individual will assist the Senior Director and the firm’s government relations and public affairs Partners, Senior Vice Presidents, and clients with a diverse array of research, policy, and political projects. Exceptional research, writing, and interpersonal skills are required. Candidates must also have a strong working understanding of how Congress and the federal agencies function.

This position is full-time salaried, with benefits and paid holidays.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree, 1-2 years of public or private sector legislative or policy experience, and a demonstrated ability to conduct qualitative research are required. Successful applicants must also have exceptional writing abilities, a keen attention to detail, and interpersonal skills. Ideal candidates will also possess Capitol Hill, executive branch, or in-state/district office experience. Additional desired professional attributes include:

· Passion for federal research, public policy, and/or politics.

Primary Responsibilities

· Develop and maintain general knowledge of legislation, government policy, and current events relevant to Forbes Tate Partners’ work and clients.
· Complete legislative, regulatory, public affairs, and general research projects as requested by the Senior Director of Research and Policy Analysis and the firm’s principals.
· Compose content for written legislative, regulatory, political, and geopolitical memos and update reports.
· Help the Senior Director and principals prepare the firm for pitches with potential clients and meetings with current clients. 

· Attend and report on committee hearings and meetings as requested.
· Assist the team in editing work products ranging from new business materials to intern memos.
· Help maintain select firm databases and trackers.
· Assist the team in organizing client Capitol Hill fly-ins.
