Crosscut Strategies - Media Monitoring Intern

Crosscut Strategies — a strategic communications and public affairs firm working with start-ups, large companies, and non-profits in tech, health care, clean energy, and other sectors — is looking for a part-time intern to join our growing team. This is a great opportunity to build your skills and work on the issues of the day for an exciting roster of clients.

The intern’s primarily responsibility will be producing a daily report containing all media coverage (e.g., broadcast, print, and online) and relevant social media mentions of our clients. Because this document must be completed by 8 am ET each weekday, it would be ideal for this person to be based in the eastern hemisphere for at least the duration of the spring 2018 semester.

This is a paid position for a motivated, self-starting individual who would work remotely on an hourly basis. It is ideal for a student who rises early or is studying abroad in Europe, the Middle East, or Asia.

Mandatory Skills and Qualifications
--Capable of devoting approximately two hours each weekday to creating at least one media monitoring report before 8 am ET.
--Excellent research and editing skills.
--Basic understanding of media landscape.
--Ability to work quickly to meet deadlines and manage multiple assignments at once.
--Strong attention to detail, especially formatting.

Desired Skills and Qualifications
--Understanding of Boolean search terms
--Interest in technology or transportation
--Familiarity with Google Alerts and issue-based research

Responsibilities include:
--Monitoring the web and social media for news that mentions or relates to the client.
--Formatting all relevant news clips into a document prior to 8 am ET each weekday.

Interested candidates should submit a resume and cover e-mail to intern@crosscutstrategies.com
