Communications / Public Relations Intern

Blakey & Agnew, a boutique communications and public affairs firm in downtown DC seeks an intern to perform various client-related and administrative duties. This firm’s client base is centered on policy and subject matter involving transportation, however background in this field is not required.

Responsibilities

The intern will be responsible for the following duties:

• Creating social media content
• Tracking media coverage and maintaining coverage databases
• Conducting news and media searches
• Monitoring legislative and regulatory issues
• Assisting in creating bi-monthly newsletter for a trade association through drafting and editing articles
• Data entry for contact database
• Other administrative and substantive duties as assigned by supervisor
• Position could include duties of increasing responsibility depending on performance and demonstrated interest

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate would be a student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Political Science or related field. The candidate must possess an upbeat, "can-do" attitude with a willingness to learn. It is also vital that the candidate have strong attention to detail, research, communication, customer service, and writing skills. We provide a cheerful, fun environment, in return for your dedicated assistance.

This internship is available immediately for the summer semester. Depending on performance and interest, there is a possibility to extend.
